ENTRY 1: Introduction and Family

Imagen
Hello! My name is Andrea Quintana Zapata, welcome to my personal blog where I´ll share some things about me. First of all; there is my family: My mom Bibiana is a serious, responsible and very honest woman. She´s always there for me when I need her to give me advice or when I need to plan something. I admire her a lot, because she has always fought for everything she has and she never gives up until she accomplishes all her goals. My dad Fernando is very cheerful and funny. I like that he always wants to help others without expecting anything in return and that he has a heart of solidarity and kindness for those who need it most. The boy in the picture is my boyfriend, he´s a very patient, relaxed and understanding person.

ENTRY 2: Working Experience

I don't have any work experience with a company yet, but since I was 15 years old I have been selling candy and candy bars in high school and college. I have sold things like bananas, chips and lemon snacks, gumdrops, chocolates, cookies and gum. We also had a family business my mom, my father and me, in which we sold rice pudding and desserts of mus and tres leches with sweets, I always went with my dad to offer our multi delicacies to people door to door, I helped my mom making the preparations and serving them and went back out with my dad to deliver the rice and desserts that had been ordered. Besides being and independent way to earn money, it was a fun way to bring us closer together as a family. Thanks to these experiences I have been able to learn how to manage the money so that I can buy the merchandise and have a profit to cover my needs and give me one or another pleasure, in the same way I learned to leave the fear behind and it is easier for me to approach people and o...

ENTRY 3: Visual arts

Imagen
Throughout my life I have been immersed in the world of visual arts, when I was little I always loved to watch animated series like doki and the bayardigans, as I grew up I began to like my little pony and ladybug's adventures, over time this type of series stopped interesting me but I always remember them with pleasure and if I wanted to see again any of these animated series I would do it without hesitation. I also found my taste for drawing and painting and since then I always try to draw the objects that call my attention and in the same way I try to get closer to the tonalities and colors that it has. It was in tenth grade that I discovered that I have a strong desire for the arts and everything that compose them as such, from the smallest detail to the most extensive, and that is why I am currently studying one of its strongest and most influential branches, digital animation. Throughout this trajectory I have been able to realize that I like to deal with the stories that mov...

ENTRY 4: Crime and Punishment

Imagen
There was a situation with an uncle. He was taken to jail for being involved in a drunken brawl. It was a few hours before that when they called his wife to tell her that my uncle was in jail for having participated in a drunken brawl in the street. The policeman asked her husband if he was going to pay the bail so that my uncle could get out of jail. But she said no, that they should keep him locked up as long as they wanted, so that he would learn his lesson. This story serves as an example for me to always keep in mind that abusing alcohol consumption never leads to good results and can have very serious consequences, therefore, there is no need to get drunk when I drink, with a few drinks it is fine, that way I avoid problems and I will not do things that I will regret.

ENTRY 5: Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

Imagen
Critical thinking: the ability that human beings have to analyze and evaluate sources of information to reach one or more conclusions about something. Media literacy: technical, cognitive, social, civic, ethical and creative skills that allow us to access the media, analyze the content critically and use it effectively, create and share it in a safe and responsible manner. The media is very misleading, always covering politics, using ideologies as shields to defend themselves and attack others. Some news is presented half-heartedly so as not to affect the country's image or that of government officials who delude citizens with empty promises and proposals. Another thing very characteristic of the different media is that they show only the part of the news that is most convenient for them, showing a half-truth or false or invented information. Thinking critically is a challenge, as putting ourselves to the task of questioning it is something we are not used to, but it is something ...
